About the Presenter:
Aquanetta Betts joined George Mason University in September 2022 as the director of planned giving. Previously, she was the senior executive director of planned giving for World Vision (Eastern U.S.) for nearly five years. Before that she spent 11 years as an estate-planning attorney, focusing on wills, trusts, and estates. Aquanetta is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and Maryland. She serves on the board of the Baltimore Estate Planning Council and has held leadership roles in various professional organizations. Currently, she serves on the board of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners. Aquanetta holds designations as a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy®, an Accredited Estate Planner®, and a Certified Fund Raising Executive®. She earned her juris doctor from Nova Southeastern University and her bachelor of arts in English from Florida International University.
